Windows Live 將取代 Windows7 自帶的Mail, Photo Gallery 和 Movie Maker 服務
微軟今天正式宣布，將取消 Windows 7 操作系統中自帶的 Mail, Photo Gallery, 和 Movie Maker服務，由免費的 Windows Live 相應服務所取代。這也進一步說明了 Windows Live 對于 Windows 7來說具有的更重要的意義。
我們最早追溯回今年 3 月就開始報道[color=#135e93]關于 Windows 7 的消息[/color]。6 月份的時候，Bill Gates 暗示 [color=#135e93]Movie Maker “is Windows Live, now”[/color]。今天，[color=#135e93]CNET 的 Ina Fried 也得到了微軟 Brain Hall 的正式確認[/color]：
[indent]In a follow-up interview on Monday, Windows Vista general managerBrian Hall said Microsoft made the decision to remove the tools fromWindows for several reasons, including a desire to issue new operatingsystem releases more quickly than it has in the past. The move alsoremoves the confusion of offering and supporting two different programsthat perform essentially similar functions.
"It makes it much cleaner," Hall said.
[/indent]為了更簡潔的 Windows 操作系統，和避免實現類似功能的兩種應用程序及對其進行重複的技術支持，微軟決定在新的操作系統裏移除相應的軟件，這也可令新系統更快的面世。
而這一重大決策，使得新的操作系統本身不再冗余，從而也一定程度上提高了其安全性；降低了 Windows 和 Windows Live團隊之間任務的重複性；Windows Live 服務擺脫了操作系統的束縛，可以更快的速度發展。從一定意義上來說，Windows Live需要一個更完善的安裝過程來滿足即將增長的用戶量需求。似乎我們目前還無法想象，沒有自帶郵件程序的操作系統的到來，但是如此一來不知道會不會也讓Gmail 也同時分了一杯羹呢 。我們期待著[color=#135e93]還有一個月左右就要開幕的 PDC[/color] 能給我們帶來更多的新消息。
